Dismissal Entered in S.C. Asbestos Talc Cases Consolidated for Trial; J&J Had Challenged the Ruling

COLUMBIA, S.C. –– Parties in South Carolina asbestos-containing talcum powder cosmetic lawsuits have filed notice of dismissals, officially ending two cases that were set to go before the state’s highest court over a contested consolidation order.

Notices of dismissal were entered Nov. 16 in the South Carolina Circuit Court for Commons Pleas, Charleston County, the parties noted. The court’s online docket states that the cases have been settled.

In an Aug. 28 order, the South Carolina Supreme Court noted that the petitioners and respondents had filed a joint motion to dismiss the action. The high court granted the motion. …
