LOS ANGELES — One of the largest talent agencies in the world has sued two Chubb Group insurers in California court, demanding coverage for COVID-19-related financial losses, arguing that it has sustained “direct physical loss or damage” to insured property.

In a Nov. 13 complaint filed against Vigilant Insurance Co. and Federal Insurance Co. in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, United Talent Agency LLC (UTA) contends that the policy covers losses caused by the presence of a hazardous substance, as well as losses that result when the use or function of property is substantially impaired, even if there was …
