TOPEKA, Kan. — A travel insurer has moved to dismiss a class action lawsuit accusing it of improperly denying coverage for a vacation cancellation, arguing that the COVID-19-related cancellation was “entirely foreseeable” when the policy was bought and therefore not insured.

In a Nov. 13 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, Generali U.S. Branch, joined by Global Assistance Inc. d/b/a CSA Travel Protection and Insurance Services and Customized Services Administrators Inc., maintain that the policy only covers “unforeseeable covered events” and excludes coverage for “any issue or event that could have been reasonably foreseen …
