KANSAS CITY — A Midwestern college has dropped its lawsuit against Zurich American Insurance Co. seeking coverage for COVID-19-related business interruption losses, according to a recent court filing in Kansas federal court.

Benedictine College filed its notice of voluntary dismissal on Oct. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.

In a class action complaint filed July 23, the Atchison, Kan., liberal arts college asserts that COVID-19 caused it to sustain physical damage and loss, and that government stay-at-home orders caused it to lose use of its insured properties for their intended purpose.
