State Court Affirms Dismissal of Manager's Counterclaims Against TIG

NASHVILLE - A Tennesee appeals court affirmed dismissal of an underwriting manager's counterclaims against a health and life insurer arising from the termination of their business relationship and a related reinsurance contract. TIG Insurance Co., et al. v Titan Underwriting Managers LLC, No. M2007-01977-COA-R3-CV (Tenn. Ct. App.).
On Nov. 7, the Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled that Titan Underwriting Mangers LLC failed to establish that it was an intended beneficiary of the reinsurance contract and therefore did not have standing to assert a breach of contract claim against TIG Insurance Co.'s successor.
