Settlement Conference Scheduled in $3.2 Million Lawsuit Against Former Cal-Regent Owners

SAN DIEGO — A California federal judge has scheduled a mandatory settlement conference for April 23 in Odyssey Reinsurance Co.’s lawsuit seeking payment of a $3.2 million judgment issued against Cal-Regent Insurance Services Corp.

In the Jan. 5 order, Magistrate Judge William Gallo of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California also directed counsel to submit settlement statements directly to chambers no later than April 13.

Cal-Regent Insurance Services Corp. underwrote certain risks on behalf of State National Insurance Co. Odyssey Re reinsured State National under four Garage Liability Quota Share Reinsurance Agreements, which were in effect …
