Non-Resident Defendants Move to Dismiss Canal Insurance’s Claims for Lack of Personal Jurisdiction

ATLANTA — Four out-of-state individual defendants have moved to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction a lawsuit accusing them of receiving fraudulent transfers from Golden Isles Reinsurance Company Ltd., arguing that the lack the requisite contacts with the forum state.

In a Dec. 19 motion to dismiss filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the non-resident defendants assert that requiring them to expend time and money to travel to Georgia to attend and participate in proceedings brought by Canal would not “comport with fair play and substantial justice.”
