Meadowbrook Demands Return of $3.5 Million In Light of Vacated Arbitration Award

CINCINNATI — Meadowbrook Insurance Group has asked a Michigan federal judge to order National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh to return $3.5 million Meadowbrook paid in compliance with an arbitration award that was later vacated.
In briefs filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Meadowbrook maintains that National Union has no right to retain the payment, given that the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals vacated the award.
