Old Republic, First American Settle Claims, Counterclaims in Title Reinsurance Action

TAMPA, Fla. — Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. and its cedent, First American Title Insurance Co. have settled their claims and counterclaims in a Florida federal breach of contract action involving title reinsurance, according to a recent dismissal order.

The Jan. 6 dismissal order issued by Judge James S. Moody Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida provides the notice of settlement and stipulation of dismissal only applies to claims between ORNTIC and FATICO. The action will proceed, however, as to claims and counterclaims between FATICO and Stewart Title Guaranty Co.
