Celanese Accuses NICO Subsidiary Resolute of Interference With Contract

DALLAS — Celanese Corp. has accused claims handler Resolute Management Inc. of delaying payment of claims submitted under liability policies issued by OneBeacon America Insurance Co. in order to relieve Resolute’s parent, National Indemnity Co., of having to pay reinsurance proceeds to OneBeacon.

In a Nov. 11 complaint pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Celanese says OneBeacon alleges that after Resolute assumed management and control of OneBeacon's obligations to its policyholders, OneBeacon stopped paying insurance claims.
