Surviving Members of Refinery Worker Files Complaint in Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The surviving members of a former refinery worker has filed a benzene action in Texas state court, claiming that the decedent's acute myelogenous leukemia was caused by exposure to benzene at the facility. Saenz, et al. v. Occidental Chemical Corp., et al., No. 08-62034-4 (Texas Cty. Ct. at Law No. 4, Nueces Cty.).

The complaint was filed Oct. 24 in the Texas County Court at Law No. 4 for Nueces County and asserts causes of action for negligence, strict product liability, breach of warranty, misrepresentation, malice, willful act and/or omission or gross neglect and wrongful death.
