Roundup MDL Court Retains Jurisdiction Over Plaintiff, Severs and Remands Claims of Co-Plaintiffs

SAN FRANCISCO –– The California court overseeing the Roundup personal injury multidistrict litigation docket has denied a motion to remand, noting that the plaintiff was exposed to Roundup on at least three military bases and, as such, it is appropriate to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over that plaintiff’s other state-law claims.

In the same Sept. 11 order, however, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California found that the remaining non-federal-enclave plaintiffs involved in the case should be severed and remanded to the Missouri state court in which the case was originally filed.
