Plaintiffs, U.S. Steel Reach Settlement Agreement in South Carolina Benzene Case

CHARLESTON, S.C. –– The remaining parties in a South Carolina benzene exposure case have reached a settlement agreement, according to documents filed with the court earlier this month.

In an Aug. 6 letter sent to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, counsel for the plaintiffs stated that the plaintiffs had reached a settlement agreement with U.S. Steel Corp., “the last remaining defendant in this case.”

“We will promptly file appropriate dismissal papers once the settlement release has been signed and the settlement funds have been paid,” the letter stated.
