Plaintiffs File Motion for Post-Trial Relief, Contest Defense Verdict Reached in Benzene Case

PHILADELPHIA –– Plaintiffs on the losing end of a benzene trial have filed a motion for post-trial relief saying that a new trial is warranted because the court erred on several occasions, including when it entered a partial directed verdict on the issue of causation.

In the June 15 motion filed in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County, the plaintiffs also took issue with the court’s instructions on Factual Cause, saying it “incorrectly stated that the experts ‘agreed’ that exposure to the Liquid Wrench and B-12 Chemtool products one to two times per month or less from …
