Louisiana Federal Court Enters Order Dismissing Benzene Suit

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has issued an order dismissing a benzene case, noting that it had been advised that all of the parties remaining in the action had agreed upon a compromise.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana entered the order of dismissal on Dec. 2.

In their complaint, plaintiffs Raymond and Theresa Gaubert alleged that Raymond Gaubert’s employment as a contract welder/pipefitter exposed him to benzene-containing products.

Gaubert was employed by a number of companies, including LouCon, Brown and Root, and Turner Industries, over the course of approximately 20 years. While …
