2 New Complaints Accuse Monsanto of Concealing Dangers of Glyphosate in Roundup

NEW YORK –– Two complaints have been filed recently against Monsanto Co., alleging that the defendant’s use of glyphosate in its Roundup herbicide caused the plaintiffs to develop cancer.

The separate complaints were both filed on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of New York and the Central District of California.

According to the complaints, glyphosate became the most-used ingredient in American agriculture by the year 2001. By 2013, it was the world’s most-used herbicide. However, the 2015 IARC study found that glyphosate was “probably carcinogenic to humans.”
