Status Conference Scheduled for Benzene Contamination Case in Illinois

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– A status conference has been scheduled for December in a benzene contamination case pending in Illinois, according to a recent docket entry.

According to a Nov. 17 docket entry entered in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, the status conference is scheduled for Dec. 12.

The underlying claims were filed by the Village of Roxana against Shell, contending that one of the company’s refineries leaked petroleum byproducts, including benzene, into the town’s soil and groundwater.
