Continental Seeks $50,542 in Pre-Verdict Interest on Defense Costs Owed by National Union

MINNEAPOLIS — In the wake of an order requiring National Union Fire Insurance Co. to pay Continental Insurance Co. more than $80,000 for defense costs incurred by their insured Valspar Corp. in four benzene actions, Continental has moved for $50,542.33 in pre-verdict interest.

In an Oct. 24 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Continental further asserts that it is entitled to post-verdict-prejudgment interest and post-judgment interest in an amount to be determined based on the date of entry of judgment.
