Steco Moves to Strike Deposition of Corporate Representative in Benzene Case; Plaintiffs Respond

ST. LOUIS –– A benzene defendant has moved to strike the deposition testimony of an Owens-Illinois corporate representative, saying it had no prior notice that the deposition was taking place.

In a Nov. 8 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Steco Corp. further says that without the testimony of Ronald Chetwin Brandon, the plaintiffs’ claims fail.

In a Nov. 14 response brief, the plaintiffs acknowledged that notice should have been given, but maintained that their claims survive without the testimony of Brandon.
