Allocation of Class Settlement Funds Affirmed by Illinois Appellate Court

OTTOWA, Ill. -- An Illinois appellate court has upheld the allocation of funds in a class settlement agreement, rejecting the contentions of plaintiffs who said they were owed more money because the gasoline spill occurred on their property. Quick, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 3-09-0987 (Ill. 3rd Dist. Ct. App.).

In the Sept. 22 ruling, the Illinois 3rd District Court of Appeals specifically found that the plaintiffs had failed to provide evidence that would support their assertion that they are owed more money.
