Committee Asks MDL Panel to Keep Judge Davidson as Pretrial Judge

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Asbestos MDL liaison committee has asked the state's Multidistrict Litigation Panel to continue the appointment of Judge Mark Davidson as the Texas Asbestos MDL pretrial judge even though the judge recently lost his bid for reelection. On Nov. 11, the committee said that Texas law allows former judges to serve as MDL pretrial judges.

Judge Davidson was defeated in his bid for reelection as a judge in the 11th Judicial District Court for Harris County on Nov. 4, according to the motion.
