Jury Rejects Claims in Take-Home Asbestos Exposure Trial

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- An Illinois jury has found for defendant NL Industries at the conclusion of a take-home secondary exposure mesothelioma trial, sources told HarrisMartin. Glass v. NL Industries, No. 06 L 278 (Ill. 3rd Jud. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
On Dec. 14, the Third Judicial Circuit Court for Madison County jury determined that NL Industries, as a successor to National Lead, did not owe the decedent a duty to warn of secondary asbestos exposure dangers, accepting the defendant's argument that such dangers were not well known at the time of the exposure.
