Washington State Court Takes Under Advisement Motion for Zonolite Class Certification

SPOKANE, Wash. - A state court in Washington has taken under advisement a motion to certify a class of plaintiffs who allege they were not properly warned about asbestos-containing Zonolite Attic Insulation installed in their homes. Barbanti, et al. v. W.R. Grace & Co., No. 00201756-6 (Wash. Super. Ct., Spokane Cty.).

The Spokane County Superior Court heard arguments Sept. 21 to determine whether the purported class, which could include some 53,000 members, will be certified.

Hearing on a motion for preliminary injunction and emergency notification of all class members was continued until Oct. 31.
