La. Court Grants Partial Summary Judgment on Government Immunity Defenses Asserted in Asbestos Case

NEW ORLEANS –– An asbestos plaintiff is entitled to summary judgment on the government immunity defenses asserted by Huntington Ingalls Inc. (Avondale), a Louisiana federal court has ruled.

In a March 7 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana opined that the defendant had not presented any new evidence or precedent that would permit the court to deviate from past similar rulings it has made.
