Parties in Asbestos Cosmetic Talc Case Reach Settlement Agreement Weeks Prior to Trial Date

NEW YORK –– Parties in an asbestos talcum powder case, including Johnson & Johnson defendants, have reached a settlement agreement in a case slated to begin trial in January, according to a recent filing.

In a stipulation of discontinuance without prejudice filed in the New York Supreme Court for New York County on Dec. 21, the plaintiffs, Johnson & Johnson, and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. stipulated and agreed that the case was discontinued without prejudice.

The Johnson & Johnson defendants settled the claims for more than $1.5 million, according to a published report.
