Defendants File Brief in Appeal Before U.S. Supreme Court over Maritime Law and Bare Metal Defense

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Defendants have filed briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court in an appeal concerning whether products-liability defendants can be held liable under maritime law for injuries caused by products they did not make, sell, or distribute, arguing in part that the U.S. Navy required the use of asbestos-containing internal materials.

The dispute has been set for oral argument in the U.S. Supreme Court on October 10.
