Calif. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict for Colgate at Conclusion of Asbestos-Containing Talc Trial

LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Colgate-Palmolive at the conclusion of an asbestos-containing talc trial, rejecting the plaintiff’s contention that her use of Cashmere Bouquet caused her to develop peritoneal mesothelioma.

The California Superior Court for Los Angeles County jury reached the verdict after approximately three hours of deliberations on Nov. 29, sources told HarrisMartin. Hon. Randy Rhodes presided over the two-and-a-half-week trial.

Plaintiff Anna Blount argued in her complaint that she used Colgate-Palmolive’s talcum powder product Cashmere Bouquet for nearly 20 years, starting in the late 1950s.
