Calif. Jurors Award $7 Million to Asbestos Plaintiffs; Reach Defense Verdict for 3 Other Defendants

LOS ANGELES –– California jurors have awarded more than $7 million to asbestos plaintiffs at the conclusion of a three-month trial, assigning 25 percent liability to lone remaining defendant Rich Tex Inc., but reaching a defense verdict as to the claims asserted against three other defendants, including one named for its talcum powder product.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury reached the verdict on Oct. 24. Hon. Mary Ann Murphy presided over the trial, which lasted for more than three months. Jurors deliberated for six days, multiple sources confirmed to HarrisMartin.
