Ill. Federal Court Weighs in on In Limine Motions in Upcoming Asbestosis Trial

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– An Illinois federal court has issued an order addressing a number of in limine motions filed in an asbestosis case, concluding in part that the plaintiff will be permitted to reference defendant John Crane as an “asbestos company” or part of the “asbestos industry.”

In the Oct. 15 order, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois weighed in on nearly 30 in limine motions filed by both the plaintiff and John Crane. A final pretrial conference in the matter is currently scheduled for Oct. 16.
