Ill. Appellate Court Upholds Dismissal of Civil Conspiracy Claims in Asbestos Case

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –– An Illinois appellate court has affirmed a defense verdict in favor of John Crane and a pretrial ruling throwing out asbestos-related civil conspiracy claims against Honeywell International (NYSE:HON), Owens-Illinois Inc. (NYSE:OI), and Pneumo Abex LLC.

In a Rule 23 order issued Nov. 15, the Illinois 4th District Appellate Court said that the asbestos plaintiff had not asserted sufficient facts that would create a triable issue of fact as to the conspiracy claims.
