MDL Court Awards Summary Judgment in Full to Crane Co., In Part to IMO Industries

PHILADELPHIA –– The asbestos products liability MDL court has awarded summary judgment to Crane Co. (NYSE:CR), and in part granted a similar motion filed by IMO Industries, ruling that both defendants could not be held liable for products they did not manufacture under maritime law.

In separate opinions issued in October, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania allowed only claims relating to packing in fire pumps allegedly sold by IMO and used by the decedent in a land-based shipyard building.
