Ill. Jury Finds for Crane Co., General Electric in Mesothelioma Trial

CHICAGO -- An Illinois jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Crane Co. and General Electric, rejecting the mesothelioma claims of a former maintenance mechanic, sources told HarrisMartin. Mulcahy, et al. v. Crane Co., et al., No. 08-L-006223 (Ill. 1st Jud. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).
The First Judicial Circuit Court for Cook County determined on Sept. 4 that the lone remaining defendants did not owe a duty to the plaintiff, whose widow asserted the claims on his behalf.
Judge Clare Elizabeth McWilliams presided over the trial.
