LAS VEGAS - An insurer has counterclaimed against the reinsurer of Frontier Insurance Co. for contribution toward the settlement of underlying construction defects claims. Clarendon National Insurance Co., et al. v. National Fire and Marine Insurance Co., et al., No. 2:08-00331 (D. Nev.).
National Fire and Marine Insurance Co. filed the counterclaims on Sept. 26 against Clarendon and Homeland Central Insurance Co. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. The filing was in response to Clarendon's demand for more than $1 million toward the settlement.
