Aromatic Amine-Containing Products Caused Bladder Cancer, Plaintiff Says

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- A plaintiff who contends his work on tanking barges exposed him to aromatic hydrocarbons and aromatic amines has claimed a number of chemical companies are responsible for his development of bladder cancer, according to a recent complaint. Burger, et al. v. Anadarko Petroleum Corp., et al., No. 07 L 972 (Ill. 3rd Jud. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
The Nov. 13 lawsuit, filed in the Illinois Third Judicial Circuit Court for Madison County, also contends that David Burger's non-occupational work, including home and automotive repairs, maintenance and remodeling, required him to work with the allegedly harmful products.
